Arturo Pérez Reverte siempre tiene la capacidad de transportarte a épocas o momentos en la vida. Por más de que no hayas estado ahà o de que no te hagas idea de lo que será, él y sus palabras te llevan. Su escritura siempre es bastante animada, de forma tal que merece ser leÃda rápidamente sin que te des cuenta. Los ritmos rápidos y la agilidad generan que la historia siempre fluya y, acostumbrados a sus novelas, este fue un cambio de hábito interesante.
"Perros e Hijos de Perra" es una recopilación de cuentos que el autor ha escrito en distintos momentos de su vida. El hilo conductor? Los perros. Y es que el autor logra expresar su amor por estos caninos que se le han aparecido en su vida, pero no deja de lado su enojo por el maltrato y la indiferencia de la humanidad ante estos. Uniendo todas estas historias, están también las ilustraciones en cada una, tan reales que casi podemos tocar a esos perros. Amigo cercano de Arturo, estas pequeñas obras fueron realizadas por el pintor Augusto Ferrer-Dalmau.
Es evidente que Pérez Reverte no tiene lÃmites en cuanto a su escritura: puede ir de novelas de aventura a estos cuentos de la vida cotidiana, pero igualmente darles su toque único, que te hace querer salir a pelear por los desafortunados perros que han tenido que lidiar con hijos de perra.
Arturo Perez Reverte always has the ability to transport you to different moments in time. Even if you weren´t there or have no idea what you´re supposed to be imagining, both him and his words just take you there. His writing is very quick and animated, which makes it worthy of being read in a fast pace that one does not notice. The agile rhythm make the story flow and, being used to his novels, this book was an interesting change of habit. "Dogs and Sons of Bitches" (unfortunately, not available in English to the best of our knowledge) is a compilation of short stories that the author has written in different points of his life. The thread that tie all of them together? Dogs. Of course, the author manages to express his love for the canines that have come to his life in one way or another, but doesn´t leave aside his anger towards abuse and the indifference of mankind towards all of this. Tying all of it together are the illustrations, which look so real that you can almost touch those dogs. They were done by the painter Augusto Ferrer-Dalmau, good friend of Arturo.
It´s evident that Perez Reverte knows no limits as regards his writing: he can go from adventure novels to everyday short stories, and still manage to give them his own unique touch which makes you want to fight for those unfortunate dogs that have had to deal with sons of bitches.
